Kelsie Dolezal, CVT
Veterinary Nurse
Kelsie grew up in northern Indiana and discovered the profession of veterinary nursing while working as a veterinary receptionist. She attended Purdue University for her bachelors degree in veterinary nursing, graduating in 2004. While at Purdue, she completed her practicum in wildlife research and veterinary behavior. She spent half her time in Alaska translocating brown and black bears, and half her time working with the behavior department at Purdue.
Kelsie’s work history includes 3 years general practice at Animal Medical Center of Chicago, 2 years in research at the Rush Comparative Research Center, and 13 years with University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine’s general practice in Chicago. She has served on the Technician Taskforce for the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities.
In her free time, Kelsie enjoys functional fitness, hiking, gardening inside and out, and spending time with her husband, Zak, and her 3 kids.
