For New Patients

Our Process

Step 1. Schedule an Insight Orientation with one of our specially trained team members

This first appointment is a group orientation session held virtually over Zoom with one of our behavior consultants or veterinary nurses (not with a veterinarian). This session will review information regarding pet body language and management of problem behaviors that we find essential for successful treatment for all of our patients. We will also review what you can expect while working with us and provide you time to ask questions. You must attend an orientation session prior to your Veterinary Behavior Evaluation. Prior to this appointment, you will fill out our Intake form and Client Contract.

Orientation Session: 1 hour

Cost: $60 (this cost does NOT include additional products, services, or appointments)

As this is a virtual session, your pet does not need to be present.

Step 2. Schedule a Veterinary Behavior Evaluation

This appointment is held in-person at our clinic with one of our veterinarians. They will incorporate the information obtained during the intake appointment with this veterinary behavior evaluation, which includes review of your pet's medical history, observation of your pet's behavior, a physical examination (if safe to perform), and diagnostic plan. Next, they'll review your pet's diagnosis and prognosis with you and work with you to set up a treatment plan to help you reach your goals.

Veterinary Behavior Evaluation: 1 hour

Cost: $525 (Any recommended medications, diagnostics, or appointments will carry an additional fee)

Following this evaluation, most clients schedule training sessions for one-on-one support to implement the treatment plan.

Step 3. Schedule on-going support with our team as a Returning Patient

Follow-up Consultations

Follow-up Consultations are held with the Insight vet that conducted your pet’s Veterinary Behavior Evaluation. They may be conducted in-person or over video conference or phone. These appointments allow our vets to evaluate your dog or cat’s response to the treatment plan and adjust accordingly for continued progress. Follow up evaluations are typically scheduled every 3 months following the veterinary behavior evaluation early in the course of treatment to ensure continued progress towards your goals. Once your pet’s behavior has stabilized, follow up consultations should be scheduled every 6 months or management of your pet’s treatment and prescription medications can be transferred back to your primary care veterinarian.

Follow-up Consultation: 30 minutes

Cost: $225 (Option to add additional 15 minutes discussion time for $100)

Please note that due to high demand for limited appointment slots we do not offer new patient scheduling on our website.
